Are Sistema products fridge and freezer safe?

All Sistema products with freezer safe symbol can be used to store food in the fridge or freezer. This symbol is usually engraved at the bottom of the product or printed on the label or carton. 

Our products without engraved freezer safe symbol are not recommended for fridge or freezer use. Our hydration (drinking) bottles are not considered freezer safe. 

Can I microwave food in your products?

We have a dedicated range of microwavable products that are designed specifically for use in microwaves. These products have a microwave symbol which is engraved at the bottom of the product or printed on the label or carton.  Please follow the recommended use and storage directions of the food being stored in these microwavable products. It is usually based on the consumer’s knowledge about the food or the information on the food label.

Our products without engraved microwave symbol cannot be used in microwaves.

Are products dishwasher safe?

All Sistema products with dishwasher safe symbol can be washed in a dishwasher on the top rack. This symbol is usually engraved at the bottom of the product or printed on the label or carton. 

Our products without engraved dishwasher symbol cannot be washed in a dishwasher. 

Should I wash my Sistema containers before using them?

Yes, we highly recommend washing the Sistema products before use, either with warm soapy water or place on the top rack of the dishwasher. For further cleaning instructions, please refer to our Use and Care Instructions. 

I am concerned about microwave cooking in a plastic container, is it safe for my family?

Sistema food containers are considered safe for food contact. They passed the necessary food safety tests based on food contact regulations, including microwave heating. 

How do I look after my Sistema products?

To keep your Sistema products looking at their best, please follow the recommendations in our Use and Care Instructions. 

Will my Sistema product stain?

Some foods, like tomato-based products, curry or food seasoned with the herb turmeric, can stain containers. Before cooking, spray your container with non-stick cooking spray or oil to help reduce the risk of staining. If staining does occur, we recommend applying a paste of baking soda and water and then rinsing thoroughly, which can help reduce the stain. Stained product will still be food safe and may be used again and again.

Are Sistema products stackable?

The modular shapes of our product range enable them to be stacked, thus saving space in your pantry, fridge, or freezer.

Where can I purchase Sistema products? Is it sold internationally?

Can I buy direct from Sistema or on the web?

Sistema does not sell directly to consumers. However, our products are sold in 110 countries through many of the world's largest retailers. Most retailers have their retail site, and you will find our products there. To see a list of stockist near you please click here.

How do I store food in Sistema products?

Always allow food to cool before placing the lid and sealing.

There is a slight smell in the container when I first open it?

This is caused by the slipping agent used during the manufacturing process, which will disappear over time. It is harmless and will not contaminate food. We recommend washing Sistema products before use, either with warm soapy water or place on the top rack of the dishwasher. For further cleaning instructions, please refer to our Use and Care Instructions. 

What is your replacement policy?

Sistema provides a warrant that the purchased product is free from material defects and workmanship for one year from the date of the original purchase (either a bill of sale, receipted invoice, or other proof that the product is within the warranty period). However, it is valid only when the product is used under normal and foreseeable conditions, with appropriate handling, cleaning, and storage. It does not cover any modification such as reprocessing, inadequate use or storage, or the addition of any other product. A full description of the defect is also required. Does Sistema® recycle any of its plastic waste?

We at Sistema® take our role as plastic food manufacturer very seriously. We work to reduce our waste as much as possible. We do this in several ways, such as using scraps and offcuts from our manufacturing processes and reuse them into other products like Sistema’s clips and large Storage Bins.
